From January to September, the total freight turnover of Russian railways was 1883.1 billion ton-kilometers, down 5.3 per cent from the same period last year; if empty mileage is taken into account, the freight turnover was 2325.2 billion ton-kilometers, down 5.8 per cent from the same period last year. In September, the freight turnover of Russian railways was 198.9 billion ton-kilometers, down 6 per cent from the same period last year; taking into account the empty mileage in the same period, the freight turnover was 244.1 billion ton-kilometers, down 6.8 per cent from the same period last year.
